Foundation for Acne-Prone Skin

If you’re someone who struggles with acne, you’ll know all about the struggle of finding a foundation that works. It’s always a fine line between covering up blemishes and turning into a complete shiny mess.

When looking for a foundation to suit acne prone skin, there are some key ingredients to search for.

Aqua – stick to oil-free formulas which have water as their first ingredient. Oil formulas will be heavier and more likely to irritate or block pores which can acerbate blemish prone skin.

Dimethicone – this is a polymer which can help absorb oils and minimise the appearance of pores etc. While its size is too large to actually block the pore, it does pose the risk of trapping excess oil and bacteria on top of the skin so a good and thorough cleansing routine is important!

Salicylic Acid – a mildly exfoliating acid which can aid in preventing acne.

So what are some of our favourite foundations for acneic skin? Check them out below!
